I was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor on October 9, 2013. I underwent a craniotomy on October 29, 2013 at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. The Neuro-Oncologist feels the gross tumor resection was a complete success; however, I underwent monthly chemotherapy treatments the remainder of 2014.

Although the past few months have been incredibly difficult, God continues to show me daily that HE and his will are in complete control. Everything will be done in his timing, not mine. I saw a post on Facebook the other day that made me laugh, “My entire life can be described in one sentence: It didn’t go as planned, and that’s ok.” That said, I continue to find comfort in a scripture that God gave my Mom for me when I was a little girl: Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I hope that my story can help encourage others. I am so blessed to have such loving and supportive family and friends. Thank you to all of you who have reached out to me to share your stories because it helps knowing you’re not the only one or going through it alone.
