My father, Tommy Joe Slater, was diagnosed with GBM in November 2002. He lost his battle on September 27, 2003. My dad was a hard-working family man whose life focused around being a devoted husband and father. He was dedicated to making sure that his family had everything we needed. My fondest memories are the family trips that he made sure we took together every year. He was strong-willed, very supportive, and a great motivator. He always said that as long as you worked hard, did your best and never gave up, you would achieve your goals in life. His motto drove me to be who I am today. I do what I do for you Dad!!! I love you!
