At 10 years old, Drew is battling Anaplastic Ependymoma (a rare form of brain cancer) for the 3rd time. When this recurrence happened in February, Drew’s family was told that this time it would be inoperable. With this devastating news, the family took to traveling and making all the memories possible while continuing to look for other opinions.
Dr. Marnie Rose neurosurgeon, Dr. Sandberg, looked at the scans and believed he could remove some of the tumor and would be able to follow that surgery with a chemo trial. Mid July, Drew came to Houston and Dr. Sandberg removed half of the tumor. On July 31st, Drew started the 6 week chemo trial. This trial is giving Drew the best chance at survival!
