I had brain surgery when I was 28 weeks pregnant to remove the tumor. We figured the headaches were migraines because that happens during pregnancy but when my local OB told us to make an appointment with an neurologist, we tried. The next day my husband took me to the hospital where they found the tumor. I was transported to Methodist by ambulance and my surgery was scheduled a few days later. They were ready to take James if he didn’t do well during my surgery. He slept through the whole thing. We delivered at 36 weeks so that I could recover and start radiation 5 weeks afterwards. I went through the radiation and immediately started the chemo. It’s been over 10 years since my surgery! I’ve graduated to appointments once a year!
THL stands for Team Highlife. It’s our silly name for my group of best friends. We all just believe that you live life to the fullest. We don’t focus on the low, but the high!
