My name is Jeff Gerber, and I am married to my wonderful wife, Katherine. We have three beautiful little girls named Lexi, Lauren, and Allison. I was first diagnosed with GBM brain cancer in June 2008 and like most GBM patients, I went through weeks of radiation and a year of chemotherapy. I was blessed to have a gifted surgeon, Dr. Robert Grossman, and I am currently under the wonderful care of Dr. Mark Gilbert’s team at MD Anderson. In 2010, doctors discovered tumor progression, so I was scheduled for surgery again. It has now been more than 5 years since my initial diagnosis. I have been able to live my “new normal” life and continue to work full-time at JPMorgan Chase. I have grown stronger in my faith and my relationships with family and friends. I refuse to let brain cancer define me and believe this has made me a better husband, father, son, and brother.
