On May 30, 1971, he married Cindy Gail Williams in Wilson, North Carolina. He has lived in Katy since 1973, where he was a member of First United Methodist Church, Katy. Robert served on the Katy Independent School District School Board for 15 years. He volunteered many hours coaching Katy American Little League, Katy Little Dribblers Basketball, and served as a referee for Katy ISD swim meets. Robert invested all of his free time into his children’s lives, which gave him great happiness.
Robert Ray Shaw went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 26, 2014 in Katy, Texas, at the age of 66 years.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cindy Shaw; his children, Chuck Shaw and wife Sarah, Allison Shaw Garrard and husband Justin, and Jeff Shaw and wife Ashley; his grandchildren, Abbie Shaw and Alexa Shaw; brother, Walter Shaw and his husband Kyle Shifflett; and other loving family members and many friends.
The family received friends on May 28, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, in Katy, and funeral services were held on Thursday, May 29, 2014, with Reverand Marlin Fenn officiating.
