Gerry Flanagan Kopecky (July 8, 1957 – October 30, 1997) was a native Houstonian; fourth child of Catherine & Jim Flanagan; married to Edward Kopecky; and mother of Trey, Kevin and Colleen Kopecky. After high school she followed her heart and went into nursing. She worked at Hermann Hospital in their Neuro-ICU. She married Edward in 1981, and they started their family and moved to East Bernard, TX. They soon became active in a variety of school, church and community events. She was diagnosed with GBM in March of 1996. Gerry tried several treatment options to fight this disease and died 19 months after her diagnosis. The legacy of her loving and kind spirit is still evident in her three children.
