We are Team Paloma. We participate in the Run for the Rose in honor of her because in this family, no one fights alone! Maria fought a short and hard battle with Astrocytoma and went “home” in April of 2012. Her nickname was “Paloma” which means dove in Spanish. Hence the reason behind our team name. La Paloma was a mom, aunt, sister, wife, and now a grandmother. We have no doubt in our mind that her grandchildren would have absolutely loved their grandmother. Bright, loving, intelligent, and truly one of a kind. La Paloma forever lives in our hearts.
