I am a former banker who specialized in international finance and asset based lending.  I was working for the Harris County Tax Office when I was diagnosed in September 2007. I was diagnosed with a meninglioma brain tumor as large as a Texas grapefruit.  During the time between my resection/craniotomy in October 2007 and the beginning of radiation treatments in January 2008, I was “terminated” by Harris County Tax Office.

I was being weaned off steroids, had just undergone six and a half weeks of radiation and three “zaps” of the Photon Knife when I suddenly experienced a seizure, developed pneumonia, and edema. I ended up hospitalized twice and eventually spent another six weeks in a rehabilitation hospital.

By October 2009 I was trained as a Certified Volunteer for CanCare. I participated in my first Relay for Life in 2011 and did my first Run for the Rose in 2012.
